Germany Offers To Train Nigerian Police On Protest Management

German government has offered to train men of the Nigeria police force in the management of protests without the use of lethal weapons.

A retired Inspector-General of the German federal police, Matthias  Seeger, who led delegation from the country to visit the chairman of  the police service commission, Musiliu Smith, explains that the European nation is seeking collaboration with Nigeria government on  police training, reform and other issues, adding that the training  will be of great benefit for newly recruited officers

But Smith in his response argues that Nigeria police personnel cannot  manage protests without bearing weapons, noting that they need to be  well-armed for the safety of the citizens at the scene.
