36 State Governors Agree To Back Federal Government’s Plan To Give Poor Nigerians 5,000 Naira Transport Palliative Monthly.

Governors of the 36 states of the federation have agree to back the federal government’s plan to give poor Nigerians 5,000 Naira transport palliative monthly.

Governor of Kaduna state, Nasir El-Rufai, who disclose this during the launch of the world banks’ November 2021 Nigeria development update report in Abuja decried the high cost of fuel subsidy, which according to him, is not reasonable, adding that Nigerian governors’ forum have met and agreed to back the federal government’s transport palliative scheme because if the fuel subsidy regime continues, state government will be unable to pay salaries in 2022.

Meanwhile, group managing director and chief executive officer of Nigerian national petroleum company limited, Malam Mele Kyari, earlier stated that the price of petrol may range between 320 and 340 naira per litre when subsidy is remove next year.
