UNESCO Pledges Support For Africa To Tackle Environmental Challenges

The United Nations Educational, Scientific, And Cultural Organisation  (UNESCO) has promised to provide financial support through its biosphere reserve fund, to address issues of environmental challenges on the African continent.
Director-General of the organization, Audrey Azoulay made the pledge at the 33rd session of the international coordinating council in  Abuja while assuring that UNESCO’s projects on the lake chad basin will go a long way to restore the ecosystem which is fast experiencing degradation.

Azoulay, who decried the effect of the environmental challenges,  however, expressed hope that there is still time to make peace with the planet.
