Ogun Warns Residents Against Unhygienic Practices As Cholera Outbreak Spreads To Abeokuta

Ogun State Government has warned residents against unhygienic practices, following the outbreak of cholera in some parts of the state.

State Commissioner For Health, Doctor Tomi Coker, who gave the warning after she visited the Sabo Community in Abeokuta North Local  Government Area of the State, where the disease was recently reported,  explained that cholera is usually derived from poor hygiene which may introduce bacteria to their food, unclean source of water, open defecation and unwholesome waste disposal.

Coker further stated that the State Government have stationed an ambulance at the Sabo Primary Health center, adding that the government is also supplying all necessary commodities for immediate treatment of the disease, while free of charge treatment will be accessed at the health facility as well as the state hospital, Ijaiye.
