NARD Insists Strike Continues After Meeting With Nigerian Medical Association.

The leadership of the Nigerian Medical Association (NMA) has met with leaders of the Nigerian Association Of Resident Doctors (NARD) as part of efforts to end the ongoing strike but resident doctors insist that the federal governments must meet their demands first.
Recall that NARD had on July 30, 2021, declared the strike action at its National Executive Council (NEC) meeting after the federal government failed to include their immediate salary payment to all house officers, payment of outstanding covid-19 allowance as well as payment of death in service insurance for all health workers, who died as a result of covid-19 infection among others.

Meanwhile, President Muhammadu Buhari has appealed to the striking health workers to return to their duty posts, while urging others contemplating strikes to go for settlement of issues by negotiating with the government.
