Federal Government To Unleash EFCC, ICPC On Resident Doctors Over Training Allowance

the federal government is planning to ask The Economic And Financial Crimes Commission, (EFCC) and the Independent Corrupt Practices Commission (ICPC) to go after some medical doctors who are not qualified to collect medical training allowance worth 540 million Naira that was meant for house officers on residency training program in the year 2020.
According to a report issued to newsmen, the government also issued queries to the chief medical directors of federal teaching hospitals involved in the illegality, stressing that about 205 doctors are said to have been illegally recruited in the Ibadan teaching hospital,  while the Calabar teaching hospital also carried illegal recruitment of over 100 doctors out of the 500 health workers.

Recall that members of the Nigerian Association Of Resident Doctors,  (NARD) had on August 2, 2021, embarked on strike over unresolved matters with the federal government bordering on the welfare of members.
