36 State Attorneys-General Drag FG To Court Over Non-Remittance Of Stamp Duties

The 36 state governments of the federation have again initiated legal action against the federal government over alleged failure to remit funds generated from stamp duties into its accounts.
The states in the suit argue that they are the sole authorities to collect stamp duties and not the federal government.

The suit file by the state attorney general on behalf of their governments asks the court to determine whether the states have no right to administer and collect stamp duties on all transactions involving individuals, persons within their respective states.
