the federal government has denied allegations that it breaches some of the agreements reached with the academic staff union of universities.
Spokesman for the ministry of education, Ben Gong, reacting to the claim by the university lecturers explains that the federal government cannot adopt the university transparency and accountability payment platform developed by ASUU because it does not make provision for tax deduction from the salaries of the university lecturers.

Gong who stated that the lecturers cannot collect salaries without paying taxes, challenged the union to be more specific in its allegations that the government had violated its agreements with them,  adding that the ministry is preparing an official letter to seek clarifications from ASUU over its recent pronouncements.
