Court Frees El-Zakzaky, Wife

A Kaduna State high court has freed the embattled leader of the proscribed Islamic Movement in Nigeria, Sheikh Ibrahim El-Zakzaky and his wife.
The presiding judge, Justice Gideon Kurada, who spoke to newsmen,  upheld the no-case submission filed by Sheikh Ibraheem El-Zakzaky and his wife in an alleged culpable homicide, unlawful assembly, and disruption of public peace leveled against them by the Kaduna State  Government.

Recall that the couple, who have been standing trial in the court for the past four years on an eight-count charge of culpable homicide,  disruption of the public peace,  was accused by the government of being responsible for the death of a soldier when soldiers massacred over  300 protesting Shiites in December 2015.
