Akeredolu Wins Again At Supreme Court

The Supreme court has dismissed the appeal file by the candidate of the People’s Democratic Party in the last governorship election against Governor Rotimi Akeredolu of  Ondo state.
Governor Akeredolu’s victory was affirmed after four of the seven justices of the supreme court hearing the case upheld his candidacy,  while three other justices disagree with the majority judgment,  insisting that the governor’s candidacy in the election is void.

PDP and its candidate, Eyitayo Jegede had earlier approach the appeal  court to challenge the candidacy of Akeredolu, insisting that his nomination form was signed by a sitting, Governor Mai Buni who doubles  as the acting national chairman of the party, but the apex court in a  majority judgment held that it is not in dispute that Governor Buni is the acting chairman of the party.

Meanwhile, Governor, Akeredolu,  reacting to the court verdict thank the judiciary for standing by the truth, while he again asks Jegede to join him in developing the state.
