Leave Your Homes If You Live In Flood Prone Areas-NEMA Warns Ogun Residents

The National Emergency Management Agency (NEMA) has advised residents of floodplain areas in Ogun state to relocate from their houses, as the state is to experience another heavy downpour in the coming months.

There was panic in the state last Saturday after a 13-hour heavy downpour destroyed some personal and government properties across the state, leaving some resident homeless.

The Southwest Zonal Coordinator, NEMA, Slaku Lugard, who gave the advice while on a post-flood assessment tour of affected areas within Abeokuta South Local Government Area, warns residents whose houses have been marked for demolition around flood-prone areas to vacate from the property, so as to prevent loss of lives.
