Ogun Govt. Considers Death Penalty For Kidnappers.

Ogun state governor, Dapo Abiodun says his administration is considering death penalty for kidnappers in the state.

Governor Abiodun, who disclosed this on Monday when he received the league of imams and alfas in Remoland at his Iperu – Remo residence to mark the 2019 Eid-el-Kabir celebration, promised to forward a bill to the state house of assembly to give the decision legal backing.

Family FM Bose Akintunde reports that the state governor who expressed worry over the spate of kidnapping and crime in the state, explained that the death penalty bill when passed into law by the assembly would curb criminal acts such as kidnapping in the state.

It would be recalled that Governor Dapo Abiodun, after a security meeting the police commissioner and the Ogun state director of the department of state security service (dss) recently, vowed to demolish buildings that serve as hideouts for kidnappers in the state.
